Spot fake employers, references and documents before screening begins.

Serynn checks whether a candidate's claimed employers, reference contacts and supporting documents are genuine, so hiring and screening teams know what they can trust before screening starts.

Source verification

A match is only as trustworthy as the source behind it.

Traditional screening remains an essential part of hiring. Serynn adds an earlier question: can the source and the supporting evidence be trusted?

A CV, a website, an email address and a document can all agree with one another and still prove very little, because the same person may have produced all four. Matching details are a starting point, not the whole picture.

Serynn is being built to bring the organisation, the contact route and the evidence into view together. That gives reviewers a clearer basis for what to rely on, what to question and what to do next.

Is the employer real?

Does the organisation exist, and does the contact route you've been given genuinely belong to it? Serynn brings company records, websites, domains and contact evidence together to make that relationship clear.

Is the document genuine?

Serynn assesses the document on its own evidence: signs of alteration, internal inconsistency and whether the issuer agrees with the claim. Findings need context and review.

Has it been seen before?

A contact route or document pattern that turns up in more than one case can reveal a relationship worth reviewing. Serynn connects the organisations, domains and contact details it sees across cases and shows the evidence behind every connection.

No history of any candidate is created.

The evidence

Buying a false employment history is now cheap, common and hard to see.

19%

of UK employees say they, or someone they know, have used a fraudulent reference house to cover an employment gap. 30% consider it justifiable.

UK people say they have lied about an employer reference. Of those, 18.5% paid a service using actors posing as former employers.

The Serynn approach

Serynn. Trust, earned.

Serynn starts before screening, by checking that the employers, references and documents behind a claim are real. The same evidence can go further. Over time it can show how well an organisation's screening works as a whole, a control that boards, HR leaders and insurers could measure rather than take on trust. That part is being designed now, with employers and insurers, and it is a question we are working to answer rather than a promise.

Screening providers carry out their checks. The employer keeps the hiring decision. Serynn supplies the evidence and the context.
